CREHELP, or CRYHELP, a parish, in the barony of LOWER-TALBOTSTOWN, county of WICKLOW, and province of LEINSTER, 2½ miles (E.) from Dunlavin; containing 760 inhabitants. This parish, which is situated on the western boundary of the county, and on the confines of the county of Dublin, is intersected by the old road from Blessington to Baltinglass, by Stratfordon- Slaney. The lands are mostly under an improved system of tillage. There are some quarries of good slate, and a little bog. A peace preservation force has been stationed here. It is a rectory and curacy, in the diocese of Dublin and Glendalough; the rectory is appropriate to the incumbency, and the curacy forms part of the union of Donard. The tithes amount to £87. 3. 7. In the R. C. divisions the parish is in the union or district of Dunlavin. There are two private schools, in which are about 30 boys and 30 girls.
