TREADINGSTGWN, or BALLYREDDIN, a parish,
in the barony of GOWRAN, county of KILKENNY,
and province of LEINSTER, 5 miles (W. S. W.) from
Gowran, on the river Nore: the population is returned
with the parish of Killarney. This small parish, comprises
only 704 statute acres: it is a rectory, in the
diocese of Ossory, entirely appropriate to the economy
estate of the cathedral of St. Canice, Kilkenny; the
tithes amount to £78. 11. In the Roman Catholic
divisions it forms part of the union or district of
Danesfort.
