CAVERTON, a village, in the parish of Eckford,
district of Kelso, county of Roxburgh, 4i miles (S.
by E.) from Kelso; containing 50 inhabitants. It is in
the vicinity of an extensive common, on which is a racecourse,
where the Kelso races are held.
