MEIKLEOUR, a village, in the parish of Caputh,
county of Perth, 2^ miles ( \V. by S.) from Cupar-Angus
containing 1 10 inhabitants. It lies in the eastern
extremity of tlie parish, a short distance north of
the river Isla, and about five miles eastward of the
church. Meikleour is a small place, the property of
Lady Keith. On an adjoining moor arc vestiges of a
Roman station.
