MEIKLEWARTHILL, a hamlet, in the parish of
Rayne, district of Garioch, county of Aberdeen,
3 miles (N. E. by E.) from Old Rain; containing 156
inhabitants. This village is situated in the eastern part
of the parish, and though small, is the largest in Rayne,
consisting of about forty dwellings. A cattle market is
held annually. There is an unendowed school at Meiklewartliill.
