NEWTON, a village, in the parish of Glammis,
county of Forfar, 5 miles (S. by W.) from Kirriemuir;
containing 105 inhabitants. This village is situated in
the north-western part of the parish, and on the high
road from Meigle to Forfar. The Dean river flows at a
short distance on the north.
