SOAY, an island, in the parish of Bracadale, county
of Inverness; containing 113 inhabitants. It is situated
about south-east-by-east of the point of Rhuandunan,
opposite to Loch Skavaig, and is separated from
the Isle of Skye by the sound of its own name. On the
north-west is a deeply-indented harbour which nearly
divides the island into two parts.
