STRATHBUNCO, a village, in the parish of Govan, Upper ward of the county of Renfrew, 2 miles (S.) from the city of Glasgow; containing 491 inhabitants. This village is situated in the south-east angle of that portion of the parish which extends into Renfrewshire, the greater part of the parish being in the county of Lanark. It is built upon both sides of the high road from Glasgow to Neilston, and may be considered as a suburb of the city, in the manufactures of which a considerable number of the population is employed. A neat chapel has been erected in the village.
