THORNTONLOCH, a village, in the parish of Innerwick,
county of Haddington, 2^ miles (E. by N.)
from the village of Innerwick; containing 119 inhabitants.
This village is situated on the coast of the German
Ocean, near the mouth of the Firth of Forth, and
close to the line of road from Berwick to Dunbar. It
consists of a number of irregularly built and straggling
cottages of mean appearance, inhabited, for the most
part, by labourers employed on the several farms of the
parish, and by a few persons connected with the contiguous
harbour of Skateraw.
