BLAEN-SAWDDE, a hamlet, in the parish of LLANTHOYSAINT, lower division of the hundred of PERVETH, county of CARMARTHEN, SOUTH WALES, 6 miles (S. E. by E.) from Liangadock. The population is returned with the parish. The name signifies the head of the Sawdde, or Sawddwy, which stream pursues its course through the hamlet, having its source in a beautiful and romantic lake on a declivity of the Black mountain, near the confines of Brecknockshire.
