CENOL (CANOL), a parcel in the parish of LLANVIHANGEL-CWM-DI, hundred of CRICKHOWEL, county of BRECKNOCK, SOUTH WALES, 5 miles (N.) from Crickhowel, containing 235 inhabitants. It forms the middle portion of the parish, as the namettignifies, and is intersected by the small river Rhiangol, which is here crossed by a bridge: an ancient Roman road also formerly passed through it. There are a few agreeable residences scattered in different parts of, khis pleasing little vale. A certain portion of the tithes belongs to the Vicar of St. John's the Evangelist, in Brecknock, having been anciently granted to the prior and monks by Pycard, a Norman knight.
