CEVN, a hamlet, in the parish of GELLYGAER, hundred of CAERPHILLY, county of GLAMORGAN, SOUTH WALES, 5 miles (S. S. E.) from Merthyr-Tydvil, containing 526 inhabitants. It is partly situated on the declivity of the lofty mountain from which the parish takes its name, and the Bargoed 'IV passes through it. There are several neat residences in different parts of the township, some of which are ornamented with plantations, though other portions are bleak and barren.
