DYFRYN, a hamlet, in the parish of VAINOR, hundred of PENCELLY, county of BRECKNOCK, SOUTH WALES, 3 miles (N.) from Merthyr-Tydvil, containing 145 inhabitants. It is situated on the left bank of the Vawr river: the lower part of the hamlet is well wooded. There are several carneddau scattered on the hills in this neighbourhood. The village of Coedycummer was formerly situated in this hamlet, but it is now a separate hamlet.
