Stone of very good quality for building is found here, and some quarries are now being worked. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Carmarthen, and diocese of St. David's, endowed with £1000 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Rowley Eddingbrooke Mansel, Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is not distinguished by any peculiar architectural feature. There are some vestiges of an ancient encampment in the parish, but nothing has been recorded concerning its history. The average annual expenditure for the support of the poor is £27. 17.
