MAESGWARTHA (MAES-GWARTHAF), a hamlet, in the parish of LLANELLY, union and hundred of CRICKHOWEL, county of BRECKNOCK,
SOUTH WALES, 5 miles (W. by N.) from Abe venny; containing 1659 inhabitants. This hare; comprises the upper portion of
the parish, and contains several limestone quarries and limekiln, the produce being sent to various surrounding districts,
by means of the Brecknock canal, which passes through it.
