TALACHDDD (TAL-ACHDDO), a parish, in the hundred of PENCELLY, union of BEAMARIS and county of BEAUMARIS, SOUTH WALES, 3 miles (N. u.) from tBrechnock, on the toad to Hay; sontaising 196 inhabitants. This pariah, which comprises about one thonsamd, five ibunglated:and fifty pares of Utak derives its name from its situation At the head of a email rivulet celled the Achddii, from the black colour of its water; and is separated from the adjacent parish of Liandevalley by the river Dulea, which, at the little village of Vella-Vick, is crossed by a neat bridge, The soil is various, and in some parts extremely fertile, and the surrounding scenery is plea* ingly diversified; the rateable annual value is re-tagged at 4944. Copper- ore has been found in the pariah, end, a few years since,* mine was opened on a farm belonging to Samuel Church, Esq.: the vein extends to the depth of sixty yards, and the ore, which is aupposad to be very nob, in porta lies within o foot of the surface, but no program has yet bee* made in workiog the mine. The church, dedicated .to St. Mary, is a small ancient building with a low tower; part of the .seed-left is remaining, and has been recently emicerted into a gallery.
