TREWYLAN, a hamlet, in that part of the parish of LLANSANTFRAID-YN-MECHAN which is is the upper division of the hundred of DEYTHUR, county of MONTGOMERY, NORTH WALES, 8 miles (N.) from Llanvyllin; containing 87 inhabitants. It is on the south bank of the river Vyrnwy. There is an ancient British fortification in this hamlet, situated in a low meadow, which must have been surrounded on all sides by a morass; it is seen very -distinctly from the Mewed road, about a qsarter of a mile front Pont-y-Pentre.
