miles (N. W. by N.) from Brecknock; containing 282 inhabitants. The lesser branch of the Yscir, from which the hamlet
takes its name, flows through a vale here, and the surrounding country is composed of barren and mountainous commons. The
rateable annual value is returned at £1006.
