ADWIC, (Yorkshire, W.R.) on Stratton, or on the Street, not far from Doncaster, is chiefly memorable for the benefaction of Mrs. Anne Savil, daughter of John Savil of Medley, Esq; a pious virgin, who, after reading Sir H. Spelman's tract, de non temerandis Ecclesiis, purchased the rectory of this Ch. and settled it in the hands of trustees, for the use of the Ch. for ever.
