ALDERTON, (Gloucestershire) near Tewkesbury, is a p. 5 m. in compass, Will. Higford, Esq; Ld. of the manor; one of whose ancestors has given 6 l. a year to keep its ch. in repair. Near the W. end of a Wood in this p. a great quantity of earth, passed from the top of a hill there about 70 years ago, and slipp'd away into the neighbouring county of Worcester, and 'tis therefore at this day called the Slip.
