AUNSLEY, or ANSLEY, (Nottinghamshire) near the source of a r. that runs into the Erwashe, which divides the Co. from Derbyshire, was the ancient manor of the Annesleys, ancestors of the Es. of Anglesea; and Aunsley-Woodhouse, a hamlet belonging to it; which was in the possession of William Ford, in the R. of Edward IV. belonged to the late D. of Newcastle, if it does not to the present.
