BATHESTON, (Somerset) 2 m. E. from Bath under Lansdown-hill, was, in the R. of Rich. II. the estate of Sir William Bryan,
and passed, by marriage of his daughter, to Sir Henry Scroop. The parsonage, which was appropriated to the abbey of Bath
before the ref. was granted by K. Hen. VIII. to Christ-church in Oxford.
