BENWYKE, (Northumberland) in the ward of Coquetdale, was one of the manors which K. Edw. IV. bestowed upon his brother,
the D. of Clarence; and was afterwards part of the estate of the family of the Percys, Es. of Northumberland; but upon the
attainder of Henry, E. of Northumberland, in the R. of Edw. IV. it passed to the crown.
