BIGLAND, (Lancashire) on the N.W. side of Cartmel, has been the residence of a family of that name, ever since the Norman conquest. It abounds with wood, and has a charming prospect of the country, and the rivers Ken and Leven. There is a fine fishpond on the top of its ascent, large and deep enough to bear a man of war.
