BIRCHINGTON, (Kent) in the isle of Thanet, a little to the W. of Margate, was anciently the manor and seat of the Quekes; from whom it passed, by marriage of a daughter, to Mr. Crispe of Oxfordshire, one of whose descendants, Henry, being sheriff of Kent and knighted, was called the little K. of Thanet. Here is a ch. s. and a chapel bel. to Monckton.
