BROMWICH, MAGNA and PARVA, and BROMWICH-CASTLE, (Warwickshire) are all three members of Aston, and lie near Coleshill. The first bel. anciently to the court-leet of the Someries, Barons of Dudley. The second, in the R, of Hen. VIIJ. was the manor of John Bond, a wealthy clothier of Coventry; from whose posterity, it passed by the female heir to the Kynardesleys, who were possessed of it 'till 1640. The third, so called from its producing broom, and lying on a creek of the r. Tame, was also the Lp. of the Barons of Dudley, and by them given to one, who made it his seat, and took his sirname from it. It was in 1640 in the family of Walter Devereux, Ld. Ferrers; and Edward Devereux, son of Walter, Visc. Hereford, made it his seat, which is now that of Sir John Bridgeman, Bart, and is 82 m. from London. Here is a ch. s.
