BULKINGTON, (Warwickshire) 4 m. from Coventry, is a large p. with several hamlets, whose Ch. formerly bel. to Leicester- abbey, as the manor did to the Zouches; but in the R. of Q. Eliz. it was sold with all the hamlets in it to Humphry Davenport and Richard Bucknam, who passed one moiety of it to Sir Christopher Yelverton, one of the Justices of the King's-Bench, whose grandson enjoyed it in 1640, and the other moiety to Mr. Puresey of Caldecote, whose son sold it to Anthony Stoughton, who was the owner in 1640.
