BURNSAL, (Yorkshire, W.R.) bet. Settle and Patley-bridge, stands on the r. Wherfe, over which Sir William Craven, an ald. of London, who was a native of this place, and father of the first Ld. Craven, built a stone-bridge, and founded and endowed a fr. sc. hard by. He also built a Ch. here, and four bridges elsewhere, with the causeys leading to them.
