CARCALSTON, (Norfolk) or COLSTON, on the N. side of Bingham, having been the estate of the Luvetots and Thorotons, came to the Arnolds and Binghams, and at length settled in the Whalleys for many generations, and was, not many years ago, sold, by a decree in chancery, to the Rev. Mr. Tho. Hall, who married the heiress of the Whalleys. A fosse-way passes thro' this place to East-Bridford; here having been a Roman station in a part of the Lp. called Oldwark. The parsonage and great tythes bel. to the D. of Newcastle.
