CHARMISTER, (Dorset) or CHADMISTER, near Dorchester, bel. anciently to the cathedral of Sarum, but in the R. of Hen. VIII. to The. Ld. Wriothesley, Ld. Chancellor, who exchanged it with his Majesty for other manors; and it was lately, if it be not still, a seat of the Trenchards.
