CHILDCOT, (Staffordshire) on the b. of Leicestershire, near Hogsnorton, stands on the r. Meese, and is so called, because
it was the estate of one Child, in the R. of Edw. III. after which, it appears to have been in the family of Childcot,
till the 11th of Rich. II.
