COMPTON-DUNDO, (Somerset) on the N. side of Somerton, had a charter, in the R. of Edw. II. for a Mt. on Tu. and a Fair on
St. Mary Magdalen's, (since disused) and bel. in that R. to the Beauchamps. This is supposed to be the Compton-Daune,
mentioned in old records as the estate of the Lds. Burnel; which passed by marriage to the family of Sir John Handloe.
