CRUMWELL, (Nottinghamshire) by the Trent, N. of Newark, bel. to the Lds. Crumwell, till the death of the last, who was treasurer of England, in the R. of Hen. VI. In that of Hen. VII. it was divided bet. Sir Will. Knivet and Will. Fitzwilliams. At length it was all sold to the Es. of Clare, except a small part, which had been sold before, by Sir Tho. Williamson, to Rob. Hoyes, a tanner of Newark.
