EXMOUTH, (Devon) anciently called Exanmouth, stands at the influx of the Ex into the sea; where are only the hutts of fishermen, who have a chapel for their ease, in the p. of Littleham; and though, as Hollingshed says, it once had a castle, yet it has now no other defence than a barred haven.
