FARNHAM-ROYAL, (Buckinghamshire) 1 m. below Clifden. is a manor which the Furnivals held formerly, by this service, viz.
to fit the K's. right-hand with a glove on the coronation-day, and to support his left-arm while he held the sceptre. It
descended from them, by a daughter of the Nevils, to the Talbots Earls of Shrewsbury, who continued to hold the honourable
office, tho' they parted with the manor to the crown.
