GRINGLEY ON THE HILL, (Nottinghamshire) on the W. side of Ganesborough, was anciently a part of the royal manor of
Mansfield, and also of the manor of Tickhill. 'Tis a little T. with a Fair Dec. 13, to which some black cattle and swine
are brought; but it is most noted for shoes, here being every year above 100, and some years near 200 shoemakers.
