HAMDEN-GREAT, (Buckinghamshire) on the ridge of the Chiltern-Hills, near Wendover, is the manor and seat of the Hamdens, one of the oldest and most honourable families in this Co. who, it is said, were settled here above 600 years; and that the porch of their house is yet standing, which was built before the conquest.
