HAWKSWORTH, (Nottinghamshire) on the N. E. side of Bingham, bel. for several successions to the Deincourts; and afterwards
passed through divers families, till at length it was seized by the crown, being part of the estate of Sir Maurice Dennis.
Q. Eliz. granted it to Rich. Whalley, one of whose descendants, in 1670, conveyed it to William D. of Newcastle; of whom
it was purchased by Robert Butler.
