HAWTON, (Nottinghamshire) in the York road, near Newark, has been much depopulated since the civil wars, and for the
greatest part inclosed. Some lands here bel. formerly to the priory of Thurgarton; after the Diss. to James Hardwick and
his heirs, and now to the D. of Devonshire.
