HILLINGDON, GREAT and LITTLE, (Middlesex) near Uxbridge. Its Ch. was formerly given to the abbey of Evesham and afterwards to the Bps. of Worcester, and a vicarage was thereupon ordained and endowed, anno 1281, the collation of which was settled at that time on the Bp. of London, as it has continued ever since. In this Ch. lies buried John Ld. Strange, who married Jaquetta sister to Elizabeth Q. of England, wife of K. Edw. I. Meinhardt the late D. of Schomberg had a seat at Great- Hillingdon, as has Mr. Chetwind since at Little-Hillingdon.
