INGESTRE, (Staffordshire) on the banks of Trent, 2 m. N. E. of Stafford, bel. in the R. of Hen. II. to the Mittons; but, in the next R. went by marriage to the family of the Chetwinds, in which it continues to this day, with the finest park and gardens that are in this part of England, laid out by the late Ld. Chetwind. The p. Ch. here was rebuilt by Walter Chetwind, Esq; who died in 1693.
