KINGSFORD, alias KINGTON, (Warwickshire) in the ps. of Bickenhill and Solihull, is a very ancient place, and had a Ch. in the R. of Hen. III. which, in that of Edw. II. was only reputed a chapel to Bikenhill. In the R. of Hen. VI. and VII. it bel. to the Montforts; of whom Sir Simon dying attainted, it came to the crown, when it was soon granted to the E. of Kildare; whose son being also attainted, it reverted to the crown, and in the R. of Edw. VI was granted to Sir Tho. Lucy of Charlecote, who sold it to Tho. Dabridgecourt, Esq;.
