become the D. of Newcastle's. Sir Cha. had begun a great house here, on a hill by the forest side near Annesley-Woodhouse,
but being assaulted and wounded by Sir John Stanhope and his men, as he was ordering the work, he discontinued it, to
prevent the farther effusion of blood in the quarrel, which was then very hot bet. the two families.
