KNIGHTLEY, (Staffordshire) on the W. side of Stafford, has a park, through which runs the r. Penk, or Rowley-Water. It came from a family of that name, by marriage, to Roger Peshall; from whom it went, by marriage of his daughter, to Will. Leigh, who dying without issue, it passed to Rich. Peshall of Chetwind, heir to Roger aforefaid; in whose family it continued several successions, till it passed, by marriage, to Sir John Blount, whose son, Sir George, gave all his lands to his nephew Rowland Lacon.
