LONGDON, (Staffordshire) 4 m. from Lichfield, in the road to Chester, on a brook that runs into Trent, is noted for severaa gentlemens seats in it; as Sir Edw. Littleton's, which afterwards came to the Wrights, and then to the Ridleys, who married with the Traffords; the Broughtons, who had a seat here, from the R. of K. John to the 44th of Edw. I. when Thomas Ld. Broughton sold it to Roger Alton, whose posterity long enjoyed it, if they do not still and lastly of the Arblasters.
