MONCASTER, (Cumberland) near Ravenglas, has bel. ever since the conquest to the Pentingtons, who, by reason of the raw sharp air that came from the sea, built a new T. The remains, called the old walls, still appearing were the old T. Roman and Saxon coins, pieces of battle-axes, arrow-heads, &c. have been found here-abouts; some of which are in the possession of Capt. Phil. Pennington, second son to Sir William. And in other parts of his liberties are very good copper, lead, and iron mines.
