MORESBY, (Cumberland) is a harbour a little above Whitehaven (the Lp. of Mr. Fletcher); in and about which many remains of
antiquity have been dug up, such as altars and stones with inscriptions on them; and several caverns found, called Picts
holes. Here is supposed to have been a Roman fortification.
