NUNEATON, (Warwickshire) 8 mm. from Coventry, 81 cm. 100 mm. from London, is a pretty large well-built T. on the Anker, had formerly a nunnery; the site of which was given by Hen. VIII. to Sir Marmaduke Constable; whose son sold it to Sir Amb. Cave; by whose daughters it went to Henry Knolls; and since to Ld. Paget and Sir Hen. Willoughby. The ruins of it are still visable at the N. W. end of the T. Here is a fr. sc. founded by the inh. in the R. of Edw. VI. who gave to it three closes of ground, in the liberty of Coventry, to be held of the crown, as bel. to the manor of East-Greenwich, in soccage. Here is a mf. of woollen cloth, with a Mt. on S. and Fair May 3.
