OCKENDEN-SOUTH, (Essex) just by North-Ockenden, anciently bel. to the Bruyns and Groves. The Bruyns part descended to the
Tyrells, and the Harlestons, &c. after which it was in the possession of Mr. Peters, who sold it to Jasper Kinsman; whose
relation of the same name has it now. The Groves part came to Sir Richard Saltonstall, lord mayor of London; and
afterwards by marriage of the heiress to John Goodere, Esq;. Here is a ch. sc.
