ODIHAM, (Hampshire) 34 cm. 41 mm. from London, in the W. road, near Basingstoke, is a corp.-T. formerly a free Bor. of the
Bp. of Winchester. It had a royal palace, and a castle, which in K.John's time was defended for 15 days, by only 13 men,
against the army of the Barons. In the R. of Ed. III. David II. K. of Scots, was kept prisoner here. This was the birth-
